Committees
Executive/Finance/Personnel Committee:
This Committee provides input to the overall governance
of the organization and reports to the Executive Director on financial
accountability and policy-type initiatives when the Executive Director
requires immediate feedback in terms of what direction or action Community
Futures should take.
Meets to assess the whole operation of the organization
in terms of financial responsibility and through a variety of corporate
fiscal analyses.
Handles human resource issues, compensation of
staff, evaluation of the Executive Director and approves personnel policies
of Community Futures.
Community Initiative Committee:
Proposes, reviews, develops, prioritizes and initiates concepts and
proposals for community economic development projects on the Sunshine
Coast, to assist the community in securing funding for and building
capacity to sustain such projects. The committee helps to identify one
or more champions for each project that is undertaken.
Investment and Loan Committee:
Provides Board and Community input to the loan approval process as governed
by the “Loan Review and Adjudication Policy”. This committee
also makes recommendations to the Executive Director and/or the Loans
Manager regarding changes to policies and/or procedures of the Loans
Department which would improve the efficiency and/or effectiveness of
the loans function.
Employment and Entrepreneurship Committee:
Addresses community leadership training, entrepreneurship training needs,
youth employment/entrepreneurship and skill shortage initiatives. The
E & E Committee provides input on potential CFDC programs / services
for youth, entrepreneurs and business including entrepreneurship, employment
(employability skills and training / developing employees), and business
development training / mentoring. It develops partnerships to offer
programs and services.
It is comprised of four subcommittees –
Business Entrepreneurship which reviews business plans and provides
community perspective for people in the Abilities to Business program;
Youth Entrepreneurship, Business Mentoring and Trades and Training.
Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee:
The committee recommends new members to the Board taking into consideration
demographics, gender and cultural balance, and representation from various
communities on the Sunshine Coast. The committee also recommends to
the Board proposed Executive Officers, standing committee Chairs. It
develops and recommends corporate governance policies / principles applicable
to CFDC
