is CFDC-SC?
The Sunshine Coast's traditional resource-based economy is under
pressure to change. This economic change is creating the need for many
Sunshine Coast residents to explore new employment options. Some have
chosen to change careers and some have chosen to pursue self-employment.
To assist new entrepreneurs make the move to self-employment, the Community
Futures Development Corporation of the Sunshine Coast has formed affiliations
with the CFDABC.
Community
Futures Development Association of BC represents 31 individual Community
Future Development Corporations (CFDCs) located throughout rural British
Columbia.
The CFDCs foster local entrepreneurship, promote, coordinate and implement
a variety of community development initiatives within their respective
communities. CFDCs offer a variety of entrepreneurial programs, business
counseling, loan programs and business information to community members
interested in expanding or starting their own businesses.
