A new partnership to support
youth on the Sunshine Coast!
Community Futures is partnering with Junior Achievement of
BC and School District 46 to bring the JA experience to high school youth.
Junior Achievement of British Columbia (JABC) is a non-profit
organization committed to inspiring and motivating BC’s children and youth
to take an active role in their future through business education. To accomplish
this goal, JABC works in partnership with dedicated business volunteers, educators,
parents and the community to deliver programs to students in grades 5 - 12.
JABC is taking the leading role to ensure British Columbia builds a solid foundation
for our youth and future business leaders.
Programs offered on the Sunshine Coast will focus on entrepreneurialism
and money management, and will encourage young people to value and develop leadership,
teamwork, and decision making skills. Initial offerings will be Economics of
Staying in School delivered to Grade 9/10 students in a one day session and
The Company Program for Grades 10 to 12, which runs over 16 weeks and students
develop, start up and operate their own company.
In order to accomplish this we need volunteers from the community
to deliver the Programs at Sunshine Coast High Schools. If you would like to
volunteer to be part of this exciting opportunity to inspire Sunshine Coast
youth or would like more information please contact:
