The Barrie Wilbee Bursary for Sunshine Coast Entrepreneurs
Community Futures of the Sunshine Coast, in collaboration with the Sunshine Coast
Foundation, proudly established an endowment to honor the esteemed community and
business leader, Barrie Wilbee.
Funds from this endowment will be annually granted to Sunshine Coast residents pursuing education and expertise in community economic development, entrepreneurship, and business acumen.
The Barrie Wilbee Bursary for Sunshine Coast Entrepreneurs was initiated with a contribution from Community Futures of the Sunshine Coast, matched by the Sunshine Coast Foundation, and is open to further contributions.
Barrie Wilbee has been a dedicated volunteer with Community Futures of the Sunshine Coast since its inception in 1987, serving as board chair for four years.
Since 2008, he has also been an active member of the Sunshine Coast Foundation's board. Barrie strongly advocates for sustainable, foundation-based funding models. In his extensive volunteer tenure spanning 35 years, he has held leadership roles with the Sunshine Coast Economic Development Commission, Sunshine Coast Employment Development Society, and the Area A Advisory Planning Committee. Barrie and his wife Beverly have been esteemed residents of Pender Harbour for many years.
The Barrie Wilbee Bursary for Sunshine Coast Entrepreneurs endowment is important because it provides a way for anyone in the community to support the success of local entrepreneurs here on the Sunshine Coast.
