The Barrie Wilbee Bursary for Sunshine Coast Entrepreneurs
Community Futures of the Sunshine Coast, in collaboration with the Sunshine Coast
Foundation, proudly established an endowment to honor the esteemed community and
business leader, Barrie Wilbee.

The Barrie Wilbee Bursary for Sunshine Coast Entrepreneurs will be awarded annually to local residents pursuing education and training in community economic development, entrepreneurship, and business skills.
​
The bursary was initiated through a founding contribution from Community Futures of the Sunshine Coast, matched by the Sunshine Coast Foundation, and is open to further donations from individuals or organizations wishing to support its mission.​​
Barrie Wilbee was a founding volunteer with Community Futures of the Sunshine Coast in 1987, serving as Board Chair for four years. He also served on the Sunshine Coast Foundation’s board from 2008 onward and was a passionate advocate for sustainable, foundation-based funding models. Over 35 years of community leadership, Barrie held key roles with the Sunshine Coast Economic Development Commission, the Sunshine Coast Employment Development Society, and the Area A Advisory Planning Committee. He and his wife Beverly were long-time residents of Pender Harbour.
